Learning with peers develops confidence, communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking and lessens anxiety. Group lessons take place using a maximum of four students and usually last 1.5 hours. These help recreate a classroom environment and can be very useful for students who want to gradually mature. For example, students can be more confident in tackling harder problems in a group setting or working in collaboration with their peers. By listening to other student’s answers it is possible to learn different ways of thinking as well as spotting common mistakes.
Early preparation is key for minimising stress and maximising results. When preparing for Year 6 exams, we recommend gradually introducing 11+ tuition during Year 4. If this is not the case, our tutors have experience preparing children starting from all ages and levels. Preparation for 13+ Common Entrance Exams is advised to start in Year 7.
Our tutors will understand your child’s learning style and help foster a love for learning. Practising examination style questions will be crucial to develop understanding and ensure success. Our tutors know the differences between the various exams provided by independent schools or ISEB common entrance examinations.
Our GCSE tutors are highly qualified teachers with years of experience in schools across the UK and providing online tutoring. By booking a free consultation, we select a tutor based upon subject and exam board requirements, as well as preferred learning style and further goals.
Our team of tutors have extensive teaching experience in A Level or IB and are very familiar with the various exam boards. There is a large step up from GCSE and we can help develop students’ abilities to work independently and develop new revision/learning strategies. We will teach the curriculum to an exceptionally high standard and develop the ability of students to answer questions efficiently, thereby ensuring exam success.
Some parents see the benefits of homeschooling which would not be received in a traditional classroom. For example, in a state school one teacher may teach of class of unto 30 students, making individual attention difficult to achieve. Your child will have more choice on how they plan their day and we offer discounts for multiple lesson bookings. For more information about the process required for homeschooling in the UK and our services please get in touch.
Whilst some students prefer to go in depth on particular topics others perform best when using a mort short-term approach. Intensive courses involve condensed programmes with key concepts and lots of examination style questions. This can help give you a boost just before the examinations start or help address a particular topic area.
