about Us

Founder Of Precision Tutoring

Welcome to Precision Tutoring! This is my story.

I have been a qualified teacher for ten years and completed a Master’s degree in Chemistry at Imperial College London, gaining a First Class Honors degree. I have taught Chemistry at a top independent boys’ school for four years and previously at an independent girls` school for two and a half years. I have both a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), working in various state schools during this time to gain experience. In addition, I studied Physics and Mathematics as my ancillary subjects at Imperial College London.

I have a passion to help students achieve their ambitions and true potential. I encourage students to develop their intellectual curiosity beyond the confines of the syllabus and strive to excellence in whichever field they chose to pursue. I believe in a balanced approach where academic study, physical health and dedicated time to help learning consolidation can co-exist.

I attended secondary school as a boarder in Reading School, Berkshire, where I completed my GCSEs (8A*, 4A) in 2007 and A Levels in Mathematics (A), Further Mathematics (A), Chemistry (A) and History (A) in 2009.

I have tutored numerous students for the past ten years with over 12,000 hours experience. In all cases I have improved their exam performances to help them achieve their goals. Each student has a unique learning style, and it is our duty at Precision Tutoring to find out what that is and adapt lessons accordingly.

In addition, we are offering courses to help tutors gain a teacher’s perspective in order to improve their practice. These courses are open to individuals and tutoring agencies. Furthermore, we offer advice and help on school entrance examinations and University applications. This can be found at our Educational Consultancy page.

Our Tutoring Approach

Consultation with the family to understand your child’s career goals and examination aspirations.
Diagnostic assessment of the student’s strengths, areas for improvement and most effective teaching style.

    1. Long term plan and strategy with clear measurable outcomes so that progress can easily be tracked. This is done using monthly reports.
    2. Homework setting and marking to build discipline and consolidation of the topics covered.
    3. Creative teaching to ensure that the students can make links between prior knowledge and new content. This will help strengthen neurological pathways for long term memory and understanding as opposed to surface learning by “cramming” to memorise notes.

How to help children reach their potential?

"Students are all different. Whilst some are very talented, they lack information and direction on how to maximise their results. Others, are in need of motivation to realise their true abilities. There are even those who are very motivated, yet do not get the results they deserve. At Precision Tutoring, it is our duty to personalise the lessons to help get the most out of students using small manageable steps and goals."
